How to Buy the Plate

Instructions to RENEW your plate online.

If you already have the Florida Education License Plate, you can renew by simply following the instructions on the tag site.

If you have a different tag and want to renew with the Florida Education License Plate, please follow these instructions.

1. Have a copy of your vehicle registration and proof of insurance, or your official registration renewal notice.
2. Click here to renew the Florida Education License Plate.
3. Under the heading, “Search for Renewals by TAG number and birthday,” enter your tag number and birthday, and click “Search.”
4. On the second page, click on the text, “Click to Change the Tag Type.” This will bring up the Specialty Tags Catalog.
5. Go to the second page of tags and you will find the tag labeled, “Florida Education License Plate” with a picture of the tag next to it.
6. Click on the “Florida Education License Plate” and follow the remaining instructions on the purchase site.

Price: The cost of registration for a license tag is determined by the weight of the vehicle and can be found on the tag purchasing website or your registration. The additional fee for the Florida Education Specialty License Plate is $20.00, plus a $2.00 processing fee. There may be a one-time tag replacement fee of $10.00 to pay for the actual license tag.
